James and Gemma’s wedding at Wedderburn Castle
Gemma and James got married on not only the hottest day of the year so far, but they also made it the longest! Their whole day was at Wedderburn Castle, near Duns in the Borders, and they started with their own version of a Highland Games. After a morning spent caber tossing and welly throwing, they all got changed into their posh outfits.
Gemma’s dress was just amazing and James was obviously speachless as he saw her walk up the aile at their outdoor ceremony. The day progressed despite the 27c heat, and ended in a grand finale in the ballroom.
There’s a few pictures here, and many more wedding photographs to see on the order page.

Presumably the kilt provides welcome ventilation in such barmy weather. Were you wearing one too?
No! And kilts are only cooler if there’s a breeze blowing….. they’re actually several layers of heavy cloth.
I always wear a dark suit, white shirt, and my ‘wedding’ tie (it’s covered in hearts) I aim to blend in with the guests as much as possible, while having two huge cameras and lenses hanging from me!
I wore a nice white shirt while photographing the Duquesa de Alba on a visit to La Rioja last week. The presenter from TVE did too. A number of people in the crowd later commented to my wife that most of the press photographers and camera crews were decidedly on the grungy side. People do notice. Lamentably, I don’t have a tie with love hearts on it.
