Wedderburn Castle, in the Scottish Borders near Duns, is one of my favourite venues to visit. It’s not just the stately building, the magnificent rooms and grounds. There’s also a lovely feeling to the place, of relaxation and care. Not to mention the food! They are one of the few venues I know that employ their own chef. No matter how large or small the wedding party, or whatever the weather throws at you, there’s plenty of scope for some wonderful wedding photography.
Ashleigh and Ross have just booked me to photograph their wedding there in June – but they live in Hong Kong and haven’t even visited Wedderburn. So while we can meet over a Skype call, I thought they might like to see a few photographs that show off the place!
Summer finally arrived in time for Dean and Paul’s celebration at Wedderburn Castle last weekend. Not only did the sun make an appearance, but the midges did too, and their Friday night bbq had the backing track of the annual Jim Clark rally taking place on the roads around Duns.
Saturday was quieter, but no less warm. After a hilarious ceremony conducted by the local registrar, guests were entertained by two friends, one snging and one accompanying her on the piano. Then we were all summoned by the piper, another friend, for champagne and cocktails on the lawn.
The perfect way to celbrate – surrounded by friends and family, drinking wonderful champagne and wine and eating the superb food that Barry, Wedderburn’s resident chef, always manages to produce!
There’s more pictures, as usual, on the order photos page.
This was such a lovely comment I felt I had to post it here. Gareth and Fumino have been looking at the proof of the album I have put together for them, and they wanted a couple of changes:
“Page 26: I guess you chose 139 instead of 138 because you are visible in the mirror, but if it’s OK with you we’d like 138. You were also a great part of our day and it would be nice to see some photo of you in there!”
