Glencorse House wedding photographer

I love being a Glencorse House wedding photographer

…probably for the same reasons that many couples like Sam and Ross choose it as their venue. As an exclusive country house wedding venue it has many advantages over a hotel wedding venue, not least in that it has it’s own Kirk, (the most romantic setting imaginable for a wedding ceremony) and it’s own chef!
And most importantly, it has a lovely relaxed atmosphere which suits my style of photography perfectly. Glencorse House itself is a magnificent location for any wedding reception, with its stunning architecture, lush parkland, lake and verdant rhododendrons The staff are all regulars, many of them students studying hospitality, and are always polite and friendly.
Chef Paul was under a bit of pressure at Sam and Ross’ wedding as Ross is also a chef! (I have once photographed another wedding photographer’s wedding, and I can confirm that the pressure is real!)
My day started at Sam’s parent’s house in Edinburgh where she was getting ready along with her two sisters, her bridesmaids, and her parents. We then made our way to Glencorse and their Humanist ceremony,
The weather had been very wet during the morning, but as my weather app predicted, the rain stopped as the ceremony started and it remained dry, if overcast, the rest of the day. Many photographers will tell you that an overcast sky is often preferable to full sunshine!
Back in the marquee, Sam’s mothers amazing flower arrangements, using old tea pots and cups and saucers was the talk of the guests. Then Sam’s father’s speech seemed to embarrass her mother more than it did her – but kept everybody laughing.
The evening continued with enthusiastic dancing to Three Card Trick band.
All in all, a day to illustrate why I love being a Glencorse House wedding photographer!
