My favourite 20 photos of 2010

These are actually my favourite expressions from last year’s wedding photography. My photography is all about seeing the moment and capturing it – whether it’s the bride’s father’s nervousnous, a Gay Gordons heading for impact, the delight in a couple eyes, or the happiness expressed by their guests.

Ricki and Eliot’s wedding at Dalhousie Castle

A beautiful day at Dalhousie Castle outside of Edinburgh, for the wedding of Ricki and Eliot. They’d travelled all the way from the USA, with a few friends and family, to celebrate their marriage in one of Scotland’s beautiful castles.
Everything went very smoothly, as you would expect with Yvonne from Scottish Wedding Consultants, organising the details! And Pipe Major Iain Grant was on his usual fine form, finishing his duties by asking Ricki is she’d ever kissed a hairy piper!
Interestingly (for me, anyway) Eliot’s sister read a poem during the service, direct from the screen of Eliot’s shiny new iPad! Now, I’ve seen fathers of the bride read their speach from notes on an iPhone before, but this was a first for me! My first iPad wedding….. sometimes I can be such a geek!

Caroline and Tony’s wedding

A bitterly cold day at Dalhousie Castle
Tony and Caroline travelled all the way from southern Ireland to get married at Dalhousie Castle, just outside Edinburgh. The weather was bitterly cold – even Pipe Major Iain Grant (a real Scot) was complaining about the damage being done to his nether regions! But Caroline wrapped herself in a blanket and braved the cold as I removed it for the photos.
Luckily, blazing fires inside the castle warmed us all up as harpist Ian Hood became the centre of attention for the couple’s two young children.

There’s more photographs on the order prints page!
