Emma and Sam’s Wedding in Edinburgh
It’s not often that you feel sea sick at a wedding – but the winds that were already blowing hard for Emma and Sam’s wedding on Inchcolm Island turned into a force 9 gale for the return ferry trip to South Queensferry!
Luckily, Emma and Sam both realised there was nothing they could do about the weather, and they continued to enjoy their day. While photographing Emma, her father and her bridesmaids walking up the path to Inchcolm Abbey, all I could hear above the wind were their shrieks of laughter as they tried to stay on their feet!
We then headed off to the Museum of Scotland, and decided not to take advantage of their rooftop terrace (!) for photos, mamaging to get some lovely portraits inside instead.
There was enthusiastic dancing that evening inside the Museum, and even Emma’s godson wanted to join in the dancing, despite the fact he was on all fours!
There’s a small selection here, and another 75 photos can be seen on the ‘order-photos’ page

Lorna and John’s wedding
Lorna and John had what may turn out to be the last fantastic day of summer (weather wise!) as they and their friends and families celebrated in glorious sunshine at Blair Castle.
The first photo below shows John attending to his mobile phone, after which he forgot to switch it off. It took the humanist celebrant to remind him and the guests of this! It was a day filled with joy, laughter and some embarrassment (again, for John, during the Best Man’s speech!)
Then it was on to the real partying with great ceilidh dancing to Kilter.
As usual, there’s more photos on the order prints page.
If there are any brides I’ve photographed from the last 12 months reading this, please vote for me in the VOWS awards! Many of you have told me that you have already done so, but the more the merrier. The VOWS website is http://www.vowsawards.co.uk/
Thanks!
Wedding photographer at Fingask Castle, Dundee
What an amazing 30 hours I spent with Sharon and Ross, their families and friends! I travelled to Fingask Castle, near Dundee, on the evening before their wedding to meet them both and to join in the BBQ. After staying at the castle overnight I travelled into Dundee to meet Sharon and her bridesmaids as they got ready, and the fun continued!
Glorious weather held for the day as their guests arrived for a simple humanist ceremony followed by a reception in the castle grounds. Then it was time to move to the pavilion for dinner and dancing to the sounds of the amazing Wildcard band, who even had Sharon up on stage singing.
There’s just a few photos here, but many more on the order prints page.

Gary and Sams wedding at Guthrie Castle
Gary and Sam got married outdoors on a slightly wet day at Guthrie Castle but the weather didn’t dampen the fun and celebrating! The guests came from three different continents – Sam’s parents from Africa, the Best Man from one side of Australia, the Bride and Groom from the other side, and many more made the relatively short journey from around the UK. The speeches (including the Best Man trying to persuade us all that Gary is not really Scottish) were followed by enthusiastic dancing!
