Real Life Weddings
The latest issue of Real Life Weddings magazine dropped through the letter box this morning, and inside there’s a feature on Gemma and James’ wedding at Wedderburn early this year!
Gemma was even kind enough to say this about me: “As well as really liking his photos, we liked Simon too!”
The magazine should be in newsagents now, or you can buy an online copy from the Real LifeWeddings web site

An International Wedding Photography Award
Well – sort of. I’ve just been awarded 18th place in the Wedding PhotoJournalists Association quartery competition. Eighteenth doesn’t seem much to boast about, but it is an international competition, and there’s an awful lot of very, very good photographers around the world! Including my colleague Nick Kirk from Lanarkshire, who was awarded 4th place.
The photo below was taken at Gemma and James’ wedding at Wedderburn Castle, and was entered in the ‘creative portrait of bridal party’ section.
You can see all the award winning photos on the WPJA site.

James and Gemma’s wedding at Wedderburn Castle
Gemma and James got married on not only the hottest day of the year so far, but they also made it the longest! Their whole day was at Wedderburn Castle, near Duns in the Borders, and they started with their own version of a Highland Games. After a morning spent caber tossing and welly throwing, they all got changed into their posh outfits.
Gemma’s dress was just amazing and James was obviously speachless as he saw her walk up the aile at their outdoor ceremony. The day progressed despite the 27c heat, and ended in a grand finale in the ballroom.
There’s a few pictures here, and many more wedding photographs to see on the order page.

Jo and Tony’s wedding at Wedderburn Castle
Jo and Tony escaped the torrential rain in Bristol to get married in glorious sunshine in the Borders.
The ceremony was at the delightful Bonkyl Church and then they travelled back to Wedderburn Castle, which looked as stunning as the bride and groom in the afternoon sunshine!
As usual, here’s a few photographs, and more can be seen by clicking here.

Allan and Deb’s wedding
A Perfect Summer’s Day…
Despite the weather forecast’s warnings, it turned out to be a perfect summer’s day for Allan and Deb’s wedding. They chose one of my favourite venues, Wedderburn Castle, which perfectly matched their relaxed, family celebration. There were no surprises, everything ran according to plan, and everyone enjoyed themselves. It was just a perfect summer day surrounded by friends and family.
