Ali and Angie’s celebrations at Boath House
Last weekend I travelled up to Boath House, near Nairn, for Ali and Angie’s Civil Partnership celebrations.
It was a very intimate affair, with only 16 guests, but the whole day was filled with love and laughter. Despite the amazing autumnal colours in the grounds of Boath House, Angie and Ali had also fallen in love with the beach at Nairn. We spent 15 minutes there, along with their friend Crystal (chief coat wrangler, to keep them warm in between the photos) and then headed back for canapes and champagne.
Boath House has a Michelin starred chef, and I left as they all sat down for a six course dinner!

Gemma and Stephen’s Wedding at The Hub, Edinburgh
What a way to start the year! My first big wedding of the year was a combination of Irish and Scottish families – and on a day that Ireland beat England at the Rugby! The omens couldn’t have been better…..
The whole affair was organised with great style by the inimitable Yvonne from Scottish Wedding Consultants and featured some hallmark classic features, such as Pipe Major Iain Grant at his best.
It was a joyous affair, full of laughter and love, and I wish Gemma and Stephen all the best for their future life together.
There’s a few photos below, and you can see many more on the order page, and please click the comment link at the bottom to tell me what you think!

Three days of Christmas
My huge family Christmas (in Norfolk) started on Christmas Eve, with my cousin Tom producing some enormous flying lanterns which we launched into the night sky. From then on, tradition followed: charades, excited children opening presents, a huge Christmas lunch, falling asleep on the sofa in front of the TV…..
On Boxing Day we headed to the coast, where at long last (for some!) there was a mobile phone signal!

Helen and Andy’s wedding
Historic Stirling Castle is a wonderful place to celebrate a wedding, especially when you fill it full of surprises! And even at the beginning of December, it was surprisingly warm (inside, anyway!)
There was an owl delivering the rings, and superb performances from the Red Hot Chilli Pipers and the castle Pipe band. It was a day full of laughter, smiles, dancing…. and two small children, Andy’s nephew and niece as page boy and flower girl, who tried to steal the show!

Rosie and Sandy’s wedding
It always helps when I have a smiling bride, and Rosie was certainly that – even though her Dad did his best to embarrass her in his speech. And then the Best Man sang his speech – A Boy Named Sandy, to the tune of Johnny Cash’s A Boy Named Sue. It certainly made for a different first dance!
It was a day full of laughter, from the minister leaving her mic on while chatting to Rosie before the ceremony, to the speeches, to the exuberant dancing. There’s more photos to see on this page.
