Alison and Andy’s wedding

The week before the shortest day of the year, Alison and Andy got married at the Barclay Church in Edinburgh. They’d first met there, and a large number of the usual church-goers came along to wish them well. Then it was off to the Roxburgh Hotel, for an afternoon and evening of celebration, speeches and dancing. There’s a few photos here, with a link to more on this page.

Caroline and Tony’s wedding

A bitterly cold day at Dalhousie Castle
Tony and Caroline travelled all the way from southern Ireland to get married at Dalhousie Castle, just outside Edinburgh. The weather was bitterly cold – even Pipe Major Iain Grant (a real Scot) was complaining about the damage being done to his nether regions! But Caroline wrapped herself in a blanket and braved the cold as I removed it for the photos.
Luckily, blazing fires inside the castle warmed us all up as harpist Ian Hood became the centre of attention for the couple’s two young children.

There’s more photographs on the order prints page!

Blair and Jody’s wedding

I saw my first snow last Sunday. Yes, I know it snowed in London in October, but here in Scotland we try and have normal weather patterns!

Blair and Jody, who had flown in from the USA with family members, had picked Castle Urquart, on the banks of Loch Ness, as their wedding venue. Luckily the howling gale and horizontal sleet that I had observed at 11am had abated by 3pm, even if it wasn’t any warmer. At least the ceremony was in the one room in the castle with a roof!

An owl delivered the rings (another first for me) and then the sun peeked out just before sunset allowing me to take some photographs with the castle in the background – all to the accompaniment of Japanese tourists taking pictures too! I think they took more than me!

There’s a few pictures below, and many more to be seen on the order page.
