I spent the August Bank Holiday weekend in glorious sunshine near Avignon in the south of France. My old university friend Chris was getting married and I was a guest rather than the official photographer. It was a great reunion of old friends, with lots of catching up to do. So, four days of fantastic weather, good friends, copious quantities of wine and no responsibilities! What could be more perfect? My jaw did hit the floor when the official photographer turned up - looking as though he'd just arrived from a war zone! The complete opposite of my own "unobtrusive" style.

It was interesting to see a wedding from a different angle - not just as a guest, but French as well, with the marriage being conducted by the local mayor (wearing his official sash) and afterwards a blessing in a church. Chris and Delphine's 3 month old baby Scarlett behaved perfectly throughout (possibly because she was being fought over by all the female guests!)
