If you ever get the chance to visit Orkney, go! It's the most amazing place. I spent the last weekend on Stronsay for Gemma and George's wedding.
It was a unique experience. I think that with the exception of the hairdresser, the bridal car and myself, everything was done locally. The reception was in the local community centre, the food was cooked, and served, by islanders, and the ceilidh band in the evening was of course local. In fact, the entire island was asked to the evening party and the sense of community, of everyone joining in to celebrate the couple's happiness was palpable.
The next day there was another party on Gemma's parents' farm, a 'recovery' party, with a barbecue and trampolines, and more music and drinks.
Here's a quick glimpse at some photos, and there's plenty more to see here.
And the sea and sand really were that colour!
