Frances and Michel's wedding

Spring had finally sprung on May 1st at Duns Castle. Frances and Michel, from Holland, got married on a day of April showers and brillant sunshine. The leaves were out on the trees and the daffodils were in full bloom. (If you're living further south, the seasons are about 3-4 weeks later up here than in London.)
There was a fantastic display of falconry, whisky tasting, and a haggis addressed by the piper. Frances, whose father is from Peebles, certainly included all the right ingredients for a great Scottish wedding! There's a larger collection of photos here.

Lisa and Keith's wedding

The first really sunny day of spring saw the wedding of Lisa and Keith from Ireland, at Borthwick castle. The ceremony was delayed slightly by a SatNav that decided to send some guests travelling from Liverpool to Edinburgh via Glasgow, but the Revd Melville Schofield soon had everyone totally relaxed!

Pipe Major Iain Grant did his usual thing too - not only playing his pipes, but explaining the history of the castle, the symbolism of a quaich, and generally being entertainer in chief!

There's a few photos below, but there's a lot more to look at if you click here.

Sarah and Colin's wedding

Last Saturday (12th April) saw me dodging the spring showers to photograph Sarah and Colin's marriage at Greenbank Church. Colin's niece, the flower girl, stole the show momentarily when she reached the end of the aisle, much to everyone's amusement.
After the service, we all made our way across town to Pollock Halls, in the shadow of Arthurs Seat (where Colin had proposed!)
The ceilidh was a huge success - I don't think I've ever seen so many people joining in so enthusiastically! Here are a few of my favourite photographs, and you can see a lot more here:
