What Do I Do?
I shoot documentary, reportage style photographs of your whole wedding day. My objective is to remain as unobtrusive as possible while photographing you and your guests enjoying yourselves. Your guests will not be kept hanging around waiting while I work.
I capture the atmosphere and feelings without any posing and fussing. It's your day and most of the time you won't know I am there.

What makes me different?
I start with the bride getting ready for the day, and take it right through to the final dance or departure of the bride and groom. I work on my own, and only ever cover one wedding a day. I do not view the work as a production line and I do not like to cover more than 30 weddings a year.
I know that every wedding is different and unique. I avoid cliches and don't expect you or your guests to perform any of the 'hilarious' poses recommended by wedding photography manuals and magazines. My photographs are of the reality of the day.
I find weddings challenging, exciting, and amusing. They are events of historical importance to those involved, revealing every facet of human behaviour, some of which I hope to capture.

What do you get?
There are no 'albums' or 'packages' to choose from as I would rather sit down with you and discuss what you'd like me to do, and what you are going to do with the photographs after you've seen them. My basic all-inclusive price for weddings is £2000. You will receive a complete set of digital high resolution colour photos of the day, supplied on a DVD (normally around 400 frames.) The files on the disc are arranged so that you can easily and quickly view all the photographs on any web browser on any computer. This is your permanent record of your wedding celebrations and you can do what you want with the images (such as getting prints made at photobox.co.uk, emailing them to your friends, or turning a selection into a slide show with music.)
Are there any extras? I also include a set of 20 black & white A4 size prints, my own selection of pictures which tell the story of your day. (You can see an example of a set of photos here.) Copyright of the photographs remains mine, but you are allowed to do what you want with them for personal, non-profit and non-commercial purposes. I also upload a selection (100-200) of your photographs to a page on this site for your friends to view and purchase. You can see examples here. There is an extensive range of further options available, from web-based albums to individually designed books, which I can arrange for you (you can view details here), or advise you on how to organise for yourselves. I am completely flexible, and am willing to meet your needs.

Although based in Scotland, distance is no problem, and I am willing to travel anywhere to meet your requirements. Of course, travel and accommodation may be charged for.
