Links and suggestions to help in planning your Scottish wedding

Updated: Mar 16, 2022

Planning a wedding can be exhausting, I hope you find these links useful. They are all for companies or individuals I have worked with as a wedding photographer in Scotland and who I recommend.

If music be the food of love then play on

If you're having a Scottish wedding, then you must include some ceilidh dancing. And of course, a caller, to teach those that don't know the particular dance, and to remind those that do.

The bands below will do as much ceilidh music as you want, and intersperse it with covers that everyone can get up and dance to. And before Auld Lang Syne at the end, I can predict that the penultimate song will be The Proclaimers '500 miles'!

For great ceilidh music and covers, I recommend these two bands;

Recommended wedding venues

Your choice of venue is one of the first decisions you have to make when planning your wedding. Every venue is unique, with it's own atmosphere. From grand castles and stately homes, to community halls and home gardens, to rustic barns and beaches, Scotland has something to offer every couple.

Some of my favourite venues in Scotland as a wedding photographer are;

Archerfield House

Fenton Tower

Glencorse House

Marine Hotel

Ravensheugh Log Cabin

Wedderburn Castle
