Twenty five years ago, Mirren and David got married in Gullane, and held their wedding reception at the Marine Hotel in North Berwick. For their Silver Wedding Anniversary they decided to hold another party – at the same venue!
Old friends from Scotland and new friends from down south (where Mirren and David now live) all travelled to be with them and their family for the big celebration by the sea.
A short walk along the beach provided some lovely relaxed portraits of the happy couple before they welcomed their guests. And they all worked off their dinner with a fantastic ceilidh that lasted well after I had left.
They had the photos from their wedding on display and it was interesting to see how fashion has changed the photography and the subjects. Every photo in the album was a very stiff posed shot of various groups of people – and yet apart from their hair styles, Mirren and David look very much the same twenty five years on! David even claimed to be wearing the same outfit he wore on his wedding day…..
