Summer finally arrived in time for Dean and Paul’s celebration at Wedderburn Castle last weekend. Not only did the sun make an appearance, but the midges did too, and their Friday night bbq had the backing track of the annual Jim Clark rally taking place on the roads around Duns. Saturday was quieter, but no less warm. After a hilarious ceremony conducted by the local registrar, guests were entertained by two friends, one singing and one accompanying her on the piano. Then we were all summoned by the piper, another friend, for champagne and cocktails on the lawn. The perfect way to celebrate – surrounded by friends and family, drinking wonderful champagne and wine and eating the superb food that Barry, Wedderburn’s resident chef, always manages to produce!
