Karen and David chose Italy for their wedding – the stunning Villa Balbianello, accessible only by boat from Lake Como. Scenes from both Star Wars and James Bond have been filmed there! The weather in Lake Como should be warm and sunny – but we had warm and wet, with thunderstorms and high humidity. It certainly made a change from ‘boring’ blue skies, even if the visibility across the lake was limited at times. It was a small intimate wedding, with just three family members, two friends and myself attending. They did things their way, with David meeting Karen by the jetty and walking with her to the ceremony. Afterwards, we took a water taxi to Bellagio for a fantastic meal – made all the better by the shouts of congratulations and applause from the locals as we walked through the cobbled streets. It was certainly a wedding to remember…..
