Matt and Louise’s Archerfield House wedding photographs

Updated: Mar 16, 2022

This was an unusual wedding in many ways! The date for one – three days after Christmas. And the schedule – a ceremony at 6pm with a drinks reception beforehand rather than after. Lastly, my booking was only confirmed five days before the wedding! But Archerfield House is such a magnificent wedding venue, just up the road from me, and Matt and Louise sounded such a wonderful couple, that I readily agreed. I didn’t actually meet them until the afternoon of the wedding, and my perceptions of them were true. However, given the time of year, it was already dark when I arrived to photograph everyone getting ready. Not a problem given modern technology! I shudder to think about the lighting I would have had to use in the old days of film….. Archerfield House’s rooms are huge! The main suite on the first floor has two bedrooms, which easily housed the male and female members of the Bridal party, And the room between the bedrooms could even hold all 20 (yes, 20! A record for me!) members of the bridal party for the formal group photo. After the formal photos, and a few posed shots of Matt and Louise in the grandeur of Archerfield House, everyone headed down to the Waterfront for dinner and speeches. I have to say, Louise’s father’s speech was one of the funniest “Father of the Bride’s” speeches I have ever listened to. And I have head a lot! Suffice to say, there are quotes in my head that can’t be put in a public blog….. I left before the dancing, but based on the fun and love I’d seen and photographed so far, I’m sure the evening continued in style! Here are some of my Archerfield House wedding photographs in Black and White – given the time of year and the lighting, I thought that black and white versions of the original colour photographs were more apt. Matt and Louise get both versions, of course!
